TARANGO since its inception in 1989 has been working with high commitment to establish it as a trendsetting outfit of Social Business. It is a house of the credible brand of aesthetic craft products made of eco-friendly natural materials & handmade. It has established itself as manufacturer and exporter of value-added handicrafts: jute, jute+leather, cotton+leather, and jute+cotton+leather mixed products of Home deco, Fashion, and Festive decorative items etc. are made by women artisans. Our aim is to improve the socio economic condition of marginalized and rural women by bringing them in trade particularly in Handicraft Sector. As a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), TARANGO is committed to alleviate poverty and increase social responsibility through fair trade.
The sincerity of TARANGO has not gone in vain. Its commitment in terms of producing Eco-friendly aesthetic diversified jute products has brought credibility for TARANGO both at home and abroad. Now, TARANGO is symbolized as a ‘Center of Excellence’ for the diversified natural fiber (Jute, Seagrass, Water hygiene, Banana and Palm Fiber etc.) products in Bangladesh.
The recognition has come from both the Government and Private Sector. The most prestigious award from the 'Best women entrepreneurship award' for the year 2019 for exporting aesthetic eco-friendly jute products all over the world. Jute Minister awarded the memento to Kohinoor on 06 March on the occasion of Jute Day at Dhaka Officers Club. Commerce Minister and Jute Secretary were also present on the occasion. Government (Ministry of Jute and Textile) was the recognition for TARANGO as the best Organization in the category of export of diversified jute products for the Year-2018 (Handed over by the Prime Minister of the country). The notable recognitions from the Private Sector were SME Excellence Award-2018 for Women Entrepreneurship by Channel I and KirtimoyeeShammanona (Achievement for notable Contribution) Award-2019 for Women in Business by Square Group.
