‘An Inclusive Approach to Empowering Working Children’ a project of World Vision Bangladesh supported by World Vision Australia and DFAT of Australian Government, which has been implementing in Dhaka slums with 3 partners organizations: Aparajeyo Bangladesh, CSID and TARANGO. This project will ensure children have increased access to basic education, safe childhood environments, and (for those that continue to work) a safer, protected work environment in the working area specially slum area in Dhaka City Corporation. |

TARANGO is the one of the partner of World Vision Bangladesh and implementing Outcome 4: Child labourers 14 years old and above, parents/caregivers of child labourers are ready for economic opportunities and employment. The project will initiate trust building activities among job providers/enterprise groups, skills training institutes and financial service providers to benefit adolescent workers (aged 15-18), and parents/caregivers of children 14 yrs and below. To achieve this outcome 4 goal TARANGO will invest in brokering the partnerships, facilitating skills training with high market demand, providing sound business/entrepreneurial advice. A resource manual for the project will be produced providing basic information about available resources, guidance in accessing these resources and protecting their assets. Project location: Badda (North Zone), Sher-E Bangla Nogor (North Zone) Mohammedpur (North Zone) , Adabor (North Zone), Pallabi,Mirpur (North zone) , Jatrabari (South Zone), Sabujbagh (South Zone). Project goal: Reduction of children aged 6 and Children in 5 Categories: Waste Picker, Transport, In-formal garments, Domestic Worker and Street Children. Expected Project outcomes:
Key activities under Outcome 4 4.1 Business and technology partnership systems for employment and enterprise development set up. 4.2 Identified opportunities for trade skills training are accessed by adolescent child laborers and/or their parents. 4.3 Vocationally trained child laborers and their families have set up profitable income generation activities. 4.4 Consultation on the Self-help Approach of Savings and loan association (e.g. VSLA model) Multiparty & Follow up meeting with vocational institution, job providers & microfinance institute Under Multi Party meeting activity, 51 MoU have been signed with different Vocational Institutes where hazardous working children are taking vocational training in different trades and job providers who provided decent job to the graduated children. This MoU is to ensure to properly follow the child rights, child labor issues and ensure child friendly working environment. These job providers are mainly beauty parlors, tailors and clothe stores, electrical/electronic shops, embroidery, butic house, Motor workshops etc. |

Children Enrollment: Total 372 children have been enrolled in different vocational institutions. Out of them 120 are boys and 252 are girls. They are enrolled in different trades Beauty Parlor, RAC, Electronic, Tailoring, Garments machine operation etc. Besides training on specific trades, these children also received one day soft skills training in their respective training institutes. At the end of the training course each child received Tk. 2600 as stipend. |

Job Placement Total 582 graduate children from previous year (girls- 363 and boys- 219) have employed through different job providers and self employment. Out of 582 children, 95 children have self employed (girls- 69 and boys- 26). |
